DRUMCONSCIOUS AUGUST: Small Changes is hosting a string of monthly events on the last Thursday of every month to showcase and celebrate local conscious heroes and make living consciously a little easier. From locally made food/drink to sustainable fashion and local charities. Join us and meet the people who are conscious about what we put into or on our bodies and the planet we share.  Our next Drumconscious event is August 29th and here’s what you can expect…

Drumconscious August featured pop-ups and how to get involved in the swop shop:

HUG (Homes for Unwanted Greyhounds): We’re delighted to welcome HUG back to Small Changes. HUG is a registered charity based in Ireland which aims to find loving homes for retired Irish racing greyhounds and promote a positive image of the breed as pets throughout Ireland. Every year, thousands of greyhounds enter the racing industry in Ireland, yet many are retired quite young due to injury or sheer lack of speed. While still healthy, vibrant dogs, they find themselves unwanted if they are not earning prize money. With a lifespan of between 12-14 years, every greyhound deserves a forever home to enjoy their retirement with comfort, dignity and companionship. Margaret and a couple of other volunteers and their greyhound friends will be out the front of the building to welcome you, receive pets, and provide information on what they do, how you might get involved…or maybe even find your own greyhound friend.

Buttercream Dream: Pulling a hat-trick, with us for 3 events in a row, Dublin’s first and only vegan cake pop-up shop providing vegan indulgence at its finest. Made in small batches for ultimate freshness and quality, using local non- GM ingredients and recyclable packaging and materials. Lauren and Jude bring a different flavour or two each time so it’s always a treat (or two) to have them along. 

Chocolatey Clare: Handmade (in Dublin) organic milky vegan chocolate bars in a variety of fun flavours with compostable packaging. Basically (almost) guilt-free. 

Sióg: The lovely Tara will be in the store with her handmade natural tonics, balms and serums, and giving a demonstration on some of her products. 

Katie Kombucha: Made with love in Dalkey (by Katie 0bvs) these pro-biotic vegan drinks come in raspberry, apple & dandelion, and original tea based flavour.

Mellos: Lemonades with unusual combinations (like Butterfly Pea and Coriander!)  made from herbs and plants infused together with natural raw honey.  

Vegicity Rewards: The latest discount card for plant eaters – and it’s already packed full of great businesses offering discounts and deals. You can meet and chat to the guys and maybe pick yourself up a card and avoid the postal fee. The cards are compostable too so no plastic waste!

Zero Waste Refills: Small Changes Wholefoods Store will be staying open until 8:30pm should you wish to pick up some late night refills in your own containers from our new self-service station!
