We’re delighted to welcome acclaimed Irish actor and musician Damian Kearney for a very special evening. Trained at RADA, Damian has enjoyed an extensive career across theatre, film and television, with credits including The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Love/Hate, The Tudors, The Young Offenders, Harry Wild and Herself. He has also performed extensively on stages including the Abbey Theatre, the Gaiety and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Tarot 101 Workshop
Curious about tarot? Learn the basics, explore the cards and try your first 3-card reading. Beginner-friendly · No experience needed
Maybe you’ve never picked up a tarot deck before. Or maybe you already have one, but feel like you can’t read a card without reaching for the guidebook. If that sounds familiar, this evening is for you.
For two relaxed hours, the café will be exclusively ours, a cosy space to slow down, grab a tea or coffee, and explore tarot without pressure or expectations.
This is a beginner-friendly introduction to understanding tarot.
Already have a deck? Bring it with you.
Don’t have one yet? We'll talk about choosing your first deck.
We’ll finish with a reading practice, giving you the chance to put what you’ve learned in action and experience reading the cards for yourself.
You don’t need to be spiritual or have any previous experience with tarot.

Irish Crochet Lace Workshop
Learn about the traditional skill of Irish Crochet Lace and create your own rose motif pincushion, taught by Aoife Kavanagh.
Aoife Kavanagh is an Irish Crochet Lace teacher has trained under the expert tuition of both Kathie Earle and Máire Treanor. In 2024, she was awarded advanced proficiency testing with the Guild of Irish Lacemakers. Please note that students should be already familiar with the following stitches (UK terms); slip stitch, double crochet and treble crochet.

Screen Printing Workshop
Join our very own Maria and the @dublinprintclub for a hands-on introduction to screen printing!
During the workshop you will:
• Learn the basics of the screen printing process
• Create your own two-colour print
• Have a go at pulling a print yourself
• Print a pre-designed artwork provided by the facilitators onto garments you bring from home
Bring one or more items such as a T-shirt, tote bag, or other cotton garment (natural fibres like cotton work best for screen printing). You’re welcome to bring multiple pieces to print on and give them a new life through upcycling.

Karl MacDermott Book Reading
Kicking off The Failing Even Better World Tour of Retail Outlets and Wholefood Stores in the Greater Inchicore and Kilmainham Area, Futile Enterprises in association with Zero Expectation Promotions cordially invites you to a reading by Karl MacDermott, from his new humour fiction novel Fail Again Fail Even Better – The Struggles of an Obscure Irish Poet, at Small Changes Wholefoods Store, 120 Emmet Road, on Thursday December 4th at 8 pm.
Fail Again Fail Even Better tells the story of poet Bosco Helly. In the pantheon of great Irish poets, Bosco would be nowhere near that pantheon. But what he lacks in talent, technical skill, emotional depth and authenticity he makes up for in persistence.
Over the years, possessing a Sisyphean stubbornness, he has published nearly forty volumes of poetry and as he attempts to finish his final collection, Bosco engages in a trip and tumble down memory lane, recalls the great love of his life Luna, shares his concerns about aging and introduces us to his circle of artistically unfulfilled friends living in that eternal bastion of blather, Dublin.
Former comedian, Karl MacDermott is a humour fiction writer. Originally from Galway he has written comedy series for radio and television in both Ireland and the UK and is the author of four books.
